Bea,
I'm replying to your project post on Freelance Connect seeking a qualified PR pro to help with media messaging and the execution of a PR program in connection with your upcoming centennial.
First, if I may, I wanted to elaborate on my background and the services I provide. I operate Astoria Communications, a PR and social media consultancy based in the New York City suburb of Sloatsburg, NY. I bring to my clients a unique combination of high-level journalism and public relations experience. In particular, clients benefit from the fact that I was a journalist at outlets ranging from small, daily newspapers to CNN Financial News. My experience at these outlets means I know how to create clear, concise messages that describe why my clients are unique and worthy of media attention.
While there were few specifics attached to your posting, I assume it's in conjunction with a special event connected to a non-profit organization. I have extensive experience working on projects for clients ranging from the Business Committee for the Arts, a non-profit that aims to increase the cooperation between the business community and arts organizations, as well as Shorewalkers, a New York-based environmental non-profit. Please note that you can see the clients I've worked for and the results I've achieved for them at my Web site, which is at http://www.astoriacomm.com. There, you'll find placements in outlets ranging from The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal to well-respected trade and local outlets.
My bid price would secure 25 hours of professional staff time, which my experience has shown is adequate for this kind of project. I would work with you to create messages and accompanying collateral and would also create a custom media list and handle all message distribution and follow up. While this may not be the cheapest quote you'll find, I'm confident in saying that I provide a superior value proposition to those who come in with lower quotes since I put my results out there for everyone to see -- even before they engage me.
Please note that I can accommodate most any delivery schedule you need; I put an estimate of 30-60 days, because generally you want to be doing publicity for an upcoming milestone or event at least one to two months out to cover publications with longer lead times.
Feel free to phone me at (646) 286-8114 or e-mail [-email blocked-] to speak further.
Kind regards,
Cyrus Afzali

Hello,
My bid assumes full time devotion for 30 days, but I would like to learn more about your plans. I worked on the Ford Centennial and you can learn a bit more about my background at writemorenow.com. All best.

Hi Bea, I would like to apply for this project, and feel that I have the perfect work experience to ensure your centennial event is a success. Having worked in Corporate Communications for UPS for six years, one of the largest projects I managed for their international regions was UPS's 100 year centennial anniversary in 2007.
From event planning, to online historical profiling to small business and employee contests, we worked for an entire year to ensure that UPS's centennial was memorable for their customers, the community and the 450,000 employees worldwide who took part in that day's events.
I can provide you sample runs of show, media planning documents, employee and community outreach examples, and complete PR and media planning.
Without knowing your time frame, I estimate this project as a full-time one month project. My fee would be $6,000 and you would have dedicated access to my services for the duration of the project. We could also work out details if the project duration was shorter or longer than one month.
